Skills and values required
- One must be 18 old years and above with experience of working in Care environment. Job training is available
- Good verbal and written communication
- Background checks including DBS checks are required
- Empathy and understanding from the service users’ point of view
- Sensitivity and understanding
- Ability to work well with others – team player
- Controlled and ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Ability to use basic tasks on the computers and hand-held devices to record the daily notes/occurrences
Care worker who is a team player and personate about serving people who need help with their personal care needs and infirm with care and support needs within Residential Care establishments and Day Care Establishments
Care workers
- Your daily tasks depend on the person you are caring for. This includes
- Help with washing and dressing
- Assist during mealtimes with feeding the residents if they are unable to do that
- Get to know their interests and assist during activities for example Bingo, playing cards etc
- Monitor and record their weight
- Support the residents with their physical and mental wellbeing
Senior Carers
- Supervise a team of Care Workers
- Write Care plans for the residents/Service users
- Monitor residents’ vital signs like blood pressure and the blood sugars
- Assist in medication when required
- Keep families up to date about their relative’s progress
- Attend meetings if required
- The hourly pay is £10.50 – £12.00 depending on experience. Carers £20,800pa and the Senior Carers £22,800pa.
